Federal Work Study
FWS can be a great source to assist with your cost of education. If you qualify for Federal Work Study this web page provides more information on this source of financial aid.
The Federal Work-Study program is a federally subsidized financial aid program that offers part-time jobs on campus for eligible undergraduate and graduate students. This program allows students to earn money to help pay educational expenses.
All students are eligible to work on-campus, whether they qualify for “Work-Study” funds or not. To secure an on-campus job, students must activate their Handshake account (university’s career management platform), actively seek a position and follow the application process. The hiring departments choose the candidates they wish to interview and hire based on a student’s qualifications.
FWS jobs are not guaranteed by virtue of being offered federal work-study funds. Unlike other financial aid awards, students receive their FWS monies as a paycheck from their employer. FWS funds cannot be used for upfront costs, and the amount awarded is the overall amount a student can earn from their position. If you have questions about FWS monies, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
Students can view and apply for available positions through Madonna University’s career management platform, Handshake. To activate your account please visit:
